Andranik Margaryan 15th Memorial with GM norm

The Chess Academy of Armenia is organizing an International Chess Tournament “Andranik Margaryan 15th Memorial” from 8th to 16th of January, 2025. The tournament is a 10-player GM norm Round Robin event held in 9 rounds.

 

Time control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves + 15 minutes for the whole game (with 30 seconds increment starting from move one).

The total prize fund of the tournament is 3700 USD.  (387 AMD ≈ 1 USD).

 

1st place -  $ 1500

2nd place - $ 1000

3rd place - $ 700

4th place - $ 500

 

Our partner "Chessify" company has established special prizes for the participants of the tournament.

1st place - bundle /$200/

2nd place - bundle /100$/

3rd place - bundle /$100/

4th place - bundle /100$/

 

In case of a tie the monetary prizes are distributed equally. Tiebreaks will be carried out according to the following rules:

a) Sonneborn-Berger,

b) number of games played with the black pieces,

c) personal games,

d) number of victories.

Chess players with rating 2501 and above - 100 USD

Chess players with rating 2450 - 2500 - 150 USD

Chess players with rating 2400 - 2450 - 250 USD

Chess players with rating 2350 - 2400 - 300 USD

Chess players with rating 2300 - 2350 - 400 USD

 

Accommodation with full board in Academy Guest House: per person per day - 40 USD

*Accommodation with full board for GMs’ is free of charge.
